What is a Skippered sailboat ?

The skippered sailing boat has designed to provide a skipper  to sail and be responsible for the  yacht.

Is there professional crew on board?

There is a local professional crew of 2  ( 1 skipper and 1 mariner well trained ).

Skipper duties ?

Above all else, the skipper is responsible for the safety of his crew, the travelers  and vessel.
Also, he is responsible for the maintenance of the systems.
The working hours for a skipper are maximum eight, out at sea.
But for multi days trip he is in charge of the boat’s safety, something that might keep him awake for the whole night, if the circumstances require it.
Conclusively he is the hospitable host who will answer all of your questions.

How about cooking and cleaning on board?

An deckhand cook is always part of the crew during your sailing trip, preparing  authentic, simple but delicious Greek dishes and  compliment them with water, wine, soft drinks and of course snacks.
Will also keep the sailboat clean during your sailing trip.

How safe is sailing in Greece?

When visiting a foreign country or when you are travelling, safety is a top priority. Greece remains very peaceful country. Our boat is fully equipped and insured according to E.U regulation.

Bookings & Payment

Are there any hidden costs ?

No hidden fees at all!
The yacht with all it’s equipment, skipper’s and deckhand cook fee, VAT and insurance are included in the price agreed.

What is the payment method and process?

Once we agree the next thing is to make a 50% deposit. You can do this via Bank monetary transfer or by valid credit card  or in cash.

What personal data do we need to confirm the booking?

In order to process & confirm the booking we need this information.

  • Full name
  • Number of Persons (adults & children)
  • Possible Dates
  • Area of interest
  • Tel. (Mobile phone number)
  • E-mail address
  • Passport  or EU ID number

Your information is stored in a secure data service and may be shared with Port Authorities and the Insurance Company in order to comply with EU and Greek Insurance Regulation. Your information is not shared with any 3rd Parties.

Do i need to sign a contract?

For Multi Day Trips
You will be requested to sign a charter agreement when you will be on board to have it notified by the coast guard, so insurance will be valid according the Greek Law.

What is the cancellation policy for Single Day Trips?

For Single Day Trips
i. If cancellation happens at least 7 days before the trip the full amount of the payment is refunded.

ii. If cancellation happens between 3 – 7 days before the trip, 50% of the payment is refunded.

iii. If cancellation happens 3 or less days before the trip, or there is a no show, there is no refund.

What is the cancellation policy for Multi Day Trips?

For Multi Day Trips
i. If cancellation happens at least 60 days before the trip the full amount of the payment is refunded.

ii. If cancellation happens between 50 – 59 days before the trip, 70% of the payment is refunded

iii. If cancellation happens between 40 – 49 days before the trip, 50% of the payment is refunded

iv. If cancellation happens between 30 – 39 days before the trip, 30% of the payment is refunded

v. If cancellation happens 29 or less days before the trip, or there is a no show, there is no refund.

Weather & Schedule

What should I bring with me?

Focus only on your personal belongings. Sun protection stuff is mandatory. Keep in mind that the Greek sun is very strong. Beach towels are always useful.

With what conditions do we sail?

Theoretically our yacht is certified by it’s designers to sail in all the weather conditions, but because we have customized our activities in cruising, the insurance companies as well as the authorities have adjusted their terms in this direction.
So we cannot sail when the wind is strong.
As all depends on the weather, so according this, the captain’s knowledge and skills are necessary to make or change the itinerary and the schedule on daily trips.
Finally night sailing is not allowed except if it’s a matter of safety.

What is the everyday schedule on board?

That depends on the trip. Have a look at our destination page.
For 2 day or multi day trips : Our skippers will give you directions when make a stop at a nice anchorage. Also they can arrange for a rental  in case that you wish to drive around.
The dinners are not include in price and taken ashore because Greek food is a part of Greek lifestyle experience.

What time do day cruises begin?

Daily cruises start at 10:00’ am., or another suggested time if it concerns group of people (friends , family, etc).

Travel & Location

When is the best time to visit Sporades islands by sailing?

Actually the best period is from 1st of May until the end of September.
The peak season is from 1st  July to end of August.

Why charter a yacht from Skiathos?

Skiathos remains in Sporades the only island with an airport.
So, it is a popular start point for cruising around the islands.
